John Shanahan, Civil Engineer, Editor of allaboutenergy.net: A lot of the public in North America and Europe have been led to believe that wind and solar energy are better than fossil fuels and nuclear. Other countries are determined to stay strong with fossil fuels and nuclear. It is so sad to see the downfall of Western Civilization coming from extreme environmentalists claiming catastrophic man-made global warming and sea-level rise. The nations with stronger energy programs will control the world.

Joshua Goldstein, emeritus professor of international relations and Staffan Qvist, Dept. of Physics and Astrophysics, Uppsala University, Sweden: Their article claims that the world only has 30 years to completely stop using fossil fuels and completely implement nuclear for all uses that fossil fuels are now used. Purely imaginary.

John Shanahan, Editor of allaboutenergy.net, Civil Engineer, David Wojick, Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow, CFACT, Washington, D.C., Ph.D. Philosophy of Science and Mathematical Logic, B.Sc. Civil Engineering: Many nuclear power organizations and utilities have contributed to the terrible situation nuclear power is in by passively accepting unnecessary crippling criteria and demands of anti-nuclear organizations. These organizations can't be more pleased. A lot of the public and elected officials are in a state of deep seated fear and misguided understanding about radiation and nuclear power. Before a large new effort for nuclear power can be launched, many things must change. Nuclear organizations must solve real problems holding nuclear power back. With the right leadership, the nuclear industry in the West could be back on track in a few decades. But, this is most likely going to take longer.

John Shanahan, Civil Engineer, Editor of allaboutenergy.net and efn-usa.org: One simple graph of carbon dioxide emissions versus poverty and prosperity would make most people understand the tremendous importance of fossil fuels. But extremists using the motto of save the world from catastrophic climate disruption demand that humanity abandon the most important thing for the modern world, namely plentiful, reliable, has many uses and by-products, fossil fuels. There is going to be a struggle to keep the modern world.
