Los Angeles Times: California has always prided itself on being a high-tech pioneer. One exception? Power distribution.Society has been delivering electricity the same way for 130 years — exposed lines on wood poles over dry grass, The power-downs have become necessary because the utility cannot guarantee the safety of its electric stations and lines.

Blackout of London. When the electrical grid fails, the modern world descends into chaos. If the blackout lasts only a few hours and no one is injured or killed, things return to normal quickly. If the blackout should last for weeks or longer, civilization collapses in every imaginable way. We can not tolerate unreliable electrical supply from wind and solar or faulty grids. People need to come to their senses about electricity and that climate change is controlled by Mother Nature, not use of fossil fuels..
