Thorpe Watson, Ph.D. in Physical Metallurgy & Science of Materials. Thirty five year career covering wide range of science disciplines plus 10 year investigation of the climate controversy: Climate is always changing and has exhibited at least four major climate cycles. For example, Canada has been covered with a mile-thick ice sheet more than 23 times during the current Holarctic-Antarctic Ice Age. Why is Russia increasing its Arctic fleet of nuclear powered icebreakers? Is the real estate market overwhelmed with ocean-front properties because of alleged, accelerating sea level increases? Are harbour masters having to deal with unusual sea level increases? The correct answers to the foregoing questions provide ample reason to reject the alarmist message.

Thorpe Watson, Ph.D. in Physical Metallurgy & Science of Materials. Thirty five year career covering wide range of science disciplines with 10 plus years investigating the climate controversy: Prophets of doom are not about to give up their anti-CO2 campaign. Even though they admit that atmospheric CO2 is still increasing during the COVID-19 global economic shutdown, they refuse to recognize the role played by our CO2 emissions. These emissions not only green the planet, they also increase the partial pressure of atmospheric CO2. This increase causes a redistribution of CO2 to restore, within a few weeks, the original distribution of CO2 between the two phases (atmosphere and oceans). The current distribution is about 50/1. There is 50 times more CO2 in the oceans than in the atmosphere. Even after the consumption of all known reserves of coal, oil, and natural gas the atmosphere will be starved for more CO2. Clearly, there is no need to destroy our economy by abandoning the use of hydrocarbon fuels. However, we must not abandon energy conservation and efficiency measures, nor abandon the pursuit of alternative sources of energy.

Thorpe Watson, Ph.D. in Physical Metallurgy & Science of Materials. Thirty five year career covering wide range of science disciplines plus 10 year investigation of the climate controversy: Contrary to the nonsensical, global-warming orthodoxy, our CO2 emissions do not give us the power to stabilize the planet’s ever-changing climate. However, a politically-mandated, carbon-free economy will certainly condemn us to poverty and misery of a third-world country. Is this a politically intended consequence of the war on CO2? In conclusion, we must treasure CO2 and allow our CO2 emissions to replenish the severely-depleted store of bio-available CO2. Any initiative to remove CO2 from the atmosphere should be viewed as an attempt to develop the ultimate weapon of mass destruction. A world without CO2 is a world without plant and animal life.
