Michel Gay: One can be an ecologist and support nuclear power as a means to ensure energy transition and, more generally, ecological transition. Nuclear power plants, including breeder reactors, meet all the criteria set out in the French White Paper on funding of ecological transition dated November 2013. This includes an annex with comparisons of costs and land area required for nuclear, solar photo voltaic and onshore wind turbines. Nuclear has the least cost and requires the smallest land area.
