Despite the fanfare surrounding wind and solar, the world’s dependency on fossil fuels is increasing.
According to the International Energy Agency, “Global coal consumption is forecast to rise by 0.7 percent in 2022 to 8 billion tons. … Coal consumption in the European Union is expected to rise by seven percent in 2022 on top of last year’s 14 percent jump.”
