South Africa has one of the best potential economies outside of North America, Europe and the major economies in Asia. It is a very important example for other countries. It has the essentials to improve to the next level: good schools, universities, infrastructure, local industries, coal and nuclear power. Their energy professionals are tops in skills and understanding man-made global warming alarmism. What is missing is strong leadership in government and control over anti-fossil fuels and anti-nuclear power alarmists. In 2022, their president made a deal with representatives of the USA and Europe to close coal mines and accept loans to build wind farms. This will destroy the economy. What good are the USA and Europe doing for South Africa?

Electricity is the lifeblood of the country. If it stops flowing, the economy immediately starts to decay. The average citizen notices it immediately when the electricity stops flowing, because the kettle does not work and the lights go out. So there is an instant public reaction. The public demands ‘a solution’.

Unfortunately, it is not so easy; it is far more difficult to generate electricity than people realise. Coal power stations are huge; you can park a couple of Boeings inside one, easily. The public wants a quick-fix to an electricity shortage so they jump at solutions such as solar panels and wind turbines. These renewable energy devices are not equal to a huge coal power station, not by any stretch of the imagination.
