Nature, Energy, and Society
Professor W. Allison's descriptions of the physics of energy sources is assumed to be correct. But his walk-away statements that the world has agreed to abandon fossil fuels (because of the carbon dioxide they emit) are not agreed to by at least 75% of the human race. Professor Allison says "The nations of the world plan to stop burning carbon fuels but have not fixed on the replacement."
[John Shanahan, Editor of website: allaboutenergy.net. - Certain political leaders in Australia, North America and Western Europe and the World Economic Forum may announce that the world is going to stop using fossil fuels, but the majority of the human race strongly disagrees with them and with good reason. See articles by Ronald Stein on the Internet and this website. Professors at Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, etc. may write papers and lecture the world that we must stop using fossil fuels, but that is not what is going to happen. Mother Nature is in charge and most of humanity will not let Mother Nature be disrespected by those alarmists.]
[Professor Allison claims that nuclear power can replace most of the uses of fossil fuels and their by-products worldwide in less than one hundred plus years. Where do professors with that thinking get their understanding of technologies for fossil fuels? It will take several hundred years, maybe longer for nuclear technologies to replace all the uses of fossil fuels and their by-products. John Shanahan, civil engineer]
