(Michael Shellenberger, John Tierney, WSJ) USofA - ‘Apocalypse Never’ Review: False Gods for Lost Souls23.Jun.2020
Michael Shellenberger, Environmental Progress: There is a recurring puzzle in the history of the environmental movement: Why do green activists keep promoting policies that are harmful not only to humans but also to the environment? Michael Shellenberger is determined to solve this problem, and he is singularly well qualified. Mr. Shellenberger wants to woo them to an alternative faith that he calls environmental humanism, which is committed to the “transcendent moral purpose of universal human flourishing and environmental progress.” It is something to be leader of a new faith.
(CFACT, Ronald Stein) USofA Sweden - Greta Thunberg preaches many of first Earth Day's failed predictions24.Apr.2020
Ronald Stein, electrical engineer, Founder PTS Advance, contributing author at CFACT: More than three decades before Greta Thunberg was born, more than 20 million Americans participated in the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970. We now look back at quotes from Earth Day, Then and Now,” by Ronald Bailey, Reason.com of the spectacularly wrong apocalyptic predictions from Earth Day 1970. Many of the same are being regurgitated today, but the best prediction from the first earth day five decades ago was that the “the pending ice age as earth had been cooling since 1950 and that the temperature would be 11 degrees cooler by the year 2000”. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970— okay, “celebrated” doesn’t capture the funereal tone of the event. The events (organized in part by then hippie and now convicted murderer Ira Einhorn) predicted death, destruction and disease unless we did exactly as progressives commanded.
Steven Lyazi is a member of the EFN-USA Board of Advisors in Kampala, Uganda. This article expresses his views about people in North America and Europe who intend to impose their plans to limit use of fossil fuels in Africa and around the world in the name of supposed catastrophic man-made global warming. Far worse than any effects from man-made global warming will be mass starvation from lack of fossil fuels and the benefits of all their by-products.
