In our brains there is something like a general "switch" that is either -trust- or -mistrust- poled. We will not succeed and it would also not be sensible or advisable to set the switch permanently to -trust-. A healthy distrust, on the other hand, goes hand in hand with skepticism or caution and is therefore recommended for meaningful application. All wildlife have a strong sense of mistrust. Why do people put blind trust in their politicians?
