President Biden’s Interior and Energy Departments have been working feverishly to fast-track offshore wind energy projects, including deepwater projects, while largely ignoring offshore wind’s threats to whales, fisheries, air travel and shipping. Meanwhile, his EPA has been issuing more and more stringent regulations to force coal and natural gas electricity plants to close prematurely, force consumers to buy electric cars and trucks they don’t want, and force homeowners to stop using natural gas for heating and cooking.
This article examines the deepwater wind energy schemes – and underscores how detached they are from reality. Before unelected bureaucrats drag us any further down the primrose path to ruinous energy and economic transformation, we need to tell them, “Enough! We’re going to keep our nuclear and fossil fuel energy, until you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that your alternatives provide equally abundant, reliable, affordable energy.”
