Israel - Palestine - Jordan - Syria - Germany - USA - The Oasis Plan
The situation between Israel and its enemies has deteriorated to the worst level since its creation on May 14, 1948.
The Schiller Institute refers to Israel and its neighbors as being in Southwest Asia. That is geograpically correct. It is called the Middle East or Near East by Europe and the USA. Calling this region Southwest Asia reflects the fact that China and other Asian countries will have more to say about what goes on in this part of the world than in the past.
Iran and its proxy militant groups are determined to wipe Israel off the map. They send long range missiles, rockets and drones at Israel by the hundreds daily. Israel has decided to fight back with full force for its survival.
A warning has been raised not to build nuclear plants in regions at war. The response was that the enemy would not strike the nuclear plants because it would be just as harmful for them as for the Israelis. This response does not acknowledge the behavior of Israel's enemies for 75 years. Build nuclear plants in Israel, Palestine, and Syria for desalination any time soon???
Here is an opinion of John Shanahan, Editor of the website: allaboutenergy.net. Representatives of the Schiller Institute may have other opinions.
Several things won't happen for hundreds of years, if ever:
1) Human space travel to other solar systems.
2) Fusion nuclear power providing electricity, space heating and process heat worldwide. Fission nuclear power from thorium and uranium can meet all the world's energy needs for a very long time. These technologies are much easier to develop.
3) Lasting peace between radical Muslims and Judeo-Christians.
4) Lasting peace between freedom loving nations and dictatorships with total control over their citizens.
The sooner the world sets good courses on these four points, the sooner humanity might have lasting peace and prosperity.
