National and regional governments are demanind that the world abandon fossil fuels and instead use wind and solar with fossil fuel or nuclear as backup. This is much more damaging for the environment, wasteful for fossil fuels and will generate mountains of used debris for thousands of years. Cost of energy will go up, environmental pollution will increase and mountains of waste will accumulate. All for no reason at all except that rich and powerful alarmists say so.
The Principle of Least Work is universal in nature. It is a fact in structural response to loads in buildings, ships, planes, cars, trucks, etc. This process happens by doing the least amount of work by most plants and animals. All non-living material and man-made structures also do the least amount of work when responding to loads. They never take a harder way.
Only fossil fuels today and synthetic liquid and gas fuels and nuclear power in the future can provide for a modern world for 8 plus billion people for the long term. Wind and solar are the choices of alarmists who insist on returning the world to the misery before the use of fossil fuels.
