Solar photo-voltaic energy has some good uses: Remote villages in Africa, Asia, and Latin America with poor to non existing electrical grids for charging cellphones, minimal lighting and remote data collection. Building large area solar systems is a devil's nightmare. This project doesn't consider the most important negative details: a) massive mining operations for thousands of years, b) massive amounts of used photo panels going to landfills for thousands of years, c) massive new transmission lines from solar collectors to cities. Thiis as dumb aa it gets.

The Interior Department’s work to responsibly and quickly develop renewable energy projects is crucial to achieving the Biden-Harris administration’s goal of a carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035 – and this updated solar roadmap will help us get there in more states and on more lands across the West, [Acting Deputy Secretary Laura Daniel-Davis].

.

The Biden Adminstration is only telling the very first few years of the story. They are not telling the really bad news for all the following years and the environment pollution at mine, mill and landfill sites for thousands of years. If it weren' so sad, it would be a sick joke. That is government leadership in Australia, Canada, Europe and the USA now a days.

.

a) All the environmental pollution from ore extraction and mineral recovery, manufacturing and transportation from remote mining sites.

b) The tremendous effort to replace all the solar panels every twenty of so years or sooner if damaged by weather. Repeat for thousands of years.

c) The vast amount of non-recyclable scrap going to landfulls for thousands of years. [John Shanahan]
