A brief review of SMR licensing progress worldwide is encouraging. Many projects are advancing, and intend to operate or be near to operating in the next 10 years. More experienced SMR vendors are in preliminary licensing discussions with less experienced or first-time nuclear nations. An unprecedented level of international collaboration with nuclear vendors and regulators has created a new, more favorable situation.
