New nuclear power station in China.

The United States may be much further behind China in ability to build new Light Water Reactors and in essential development of commercial advance reactor.

This is due to fifty years of opposition to advanced nuclear power in the United States.

The headlines Bill Gates is getting in 2024 for "his" nuclear power plant in Wyoming are for technology developed and tested in the 1980s at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois and Idaho. This technology is very good and timeless, but there remains technical challenges on the non-nuclear side of the power plant. Why have Russia and China not used this technology more when they are so active in advanced nuclear power development?

Most American design and construction capability and knowhow for standard commercial Light Water Reactors has gone out of business. Real research and development like at the Fast Flux Test Facility in Washington State and Experimental Breeder Reactor II in Idaho was blocked by anti-advanced nuclear power activists in the White House, at Princeton University and the Natural Resources Defense Council from the 1970s through the 2010s. osth of America's nuclear power capabilities have been destroyed by America's own activists and partners in government!

China will shine and prosper while America withers under policies of their anti-modern world alarmists. JOHN SHANAHAN
