At CLINTEL in the Netherlands, we see that during the past 30 years two topics are most often discussed in climate science and policy circles:

I. What is the influence of the increased CO2 concentration on the temperature in the atmosphere, particularly the lower troposphere?

II. What is the cause of the increased CO2 concentration in the atmosphere?

The mainstream climate theory states that (1) the increasing CO2 in the atmosphere is the cause of global warming ánd (2) that the increasing CO2 is caused by human activities. This explains the passionate 'War on CO2' in Western climate policies and the firm belief in climate emergency.

In CLINTEL however, we argue that there is NO question of climate emergency. In the past 160 years humanity has experienced an unbelievable boom. For the first time in history, a large portion of the world's (growing) population has an economically dignified existence.

Amory Lovins, long time anti-nuclear power advocate: As the Italian proverb says, arithmetic is not an opinion. So let’s do the math. Renewables and efficiency cost less than operating many nuclear plants. That's right, arithmetic is not an opinion, but garbage numbers and unsound assumptions into the arithmetic leads to worthless numbers out. Same for computer models for climate science. "Efficiency," code for using less energy, obviously costs less than producing energy. The public listens to what they want to hear. So his article, celebrating the agreement with Friends of the Earth and the Natural Resources Defense Council to close the last operating nuclear power plant in California will be music to anti-nuclear power advocates and a sad tragedy for most of humanity and the environment. Lovins talks about "carbon" not carbon dioxide. Carbon is diamonds. Carbon dioxide is a colorless, oderless gas that is essential for all life! So he wants to do the math!!

Geert de Vries, physicist: One day, when the CO2 scam is finally unmasked, some nuclear advocates will stand there as part of the scam. Meanwhile our climate varies due to solar and oceanic causes.

CO2 Coalition, William Happer et al.: The fraction of the beneficial molecule CO2 in the current atmosphere is tiny, about 0.04% by volume. This level is about 30% larger than pre-industrial levels in 1800. But today's levels are still much smaller than the levels, 0.20% or more, that prevaied over much of geological history. CO2 levels during the past tens of millions of years have been much closer to starvation levels, 0.015%, when many plants die, than to the much higher levels that most plants prefer.

The Coalition seeks to engage in an informed and dispassionate discussion of climate change, humans’ role in the climate system, the limitations of climate models, and the consequences of mandated reductions in CO2 emissions.

Ed Berry, Physicist and Patric Moore, Environmentalist: They both consider that CO2 from human emissions is not causing serious man-made global warming, serious other climate change effects, nor serious rise in ocean levels. In this discussion, they debate which view, logic, reasons are correct for the conclusion that they share about CO2 from human emissions.

This article details the lack of an identifiable causal relationship between CO2 concentration changes and Earth’s temperature changes. The author suggests "there is no propensity for CO2 to store heat in a systematic way over time to produce a climate change effect".

Keith Dawson, Vice President at the Scottish Society of Crop Research - So far prospects are worrying, with climate computer predictions, on which costly taxpayer-funded policies are based, well wide of measured reality. In terms of temperature increase, ocean acidification, sea levels and polar ice, predictions have massively exaggerated what is happening. Polar ice and bear populations are now larger than when Al Gore made doomsday predictions ten years ago. This is the year Arctic ice vanishes completely, remember?

Craig Idso, CO2 Science: The Center for the Study of Carbon Dioxide and Global Change was created to disseminate factual reports and sound commentary on new developments in the world-wide scientific quest to determine the climatic and biological consequences of the ongoing rise in the air's CO2 content. The website has extensive articles and issues of CO Science going back to 1998.

Should the United States retain its position as the greatest industrialized nation in energy self-sufficiency, I suggest the coal liquefaction process be revisited.

Sebastian Luening, Geologist, Paleontologist, publisher of website kaltesonne.de: The storms are no different – but we are It’s not the weather that has got worse, it’s our ability to cope without the creature comforts. This article documents that increased storminess in Europe going back centuries is mostly associated with colder climate conditions and weak solar activity, not the recent use of fossil fuels.

Few insiders have profited more from taxpayer-backed renewable energy projects than Al Gore. When he left the vice presidency in 2001, his net worth was estimated at less than $2 million. Since then, his wealth has skyrocketed to $300 million, and if the climate change legislation he advocates is enacted, the former vice president stands to become a billionaire.

Atomic energy is a tool that is capable of helping address some of humanity’s most wicked challenges. Clean, abundant, reliable and affordable power makes everything we do a little easier and is becoming increasing urgent in the era of climate change. Unfortunately, atomic energy is a long way from reaching its potential or even achieving the impact envisioned by its pioneers.

Other statements lack scientific basis and cause serious problems in getting to the right conclusions. If the ideas in this article are followed and the logic and reasoning turns out to be wrong, the consequences of forcing the world to go without fossil fuels are dire.

Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass) describes challenges of “impacts of climate change on dangerous nuclear waste.” If the ideas in this article are implemented and the reasoning about catastrophic man-made climate change, etc., and dangerous nuclear waste turn out to be wrong, the consequences of going without fossil fuels, permanently disposing of hazardous nuclear waste (used nuclear fuel), and not using the approximate 99% available energy in the uranium ore stored in depleted uranium and used nuclear fuel will certainly be a disaster for humanity.

But because he has doubts about man-made global warming theory, the alarmists who try to scare kids about the climate don’t like him and say ugly things about him. He doesn’t let that bother him.
