Everybody in the nuclear industry is familiar with the erroneous conclusion that since power plants emit radiation it is dangerous. The problem is one of scale, or course. Exposure to radiation from a power plant is minuscule, but non-zero, and that gets mathematically challenged people up in arms.

In a similar vein, it is true that adding CO2 to the atmosphere causes some global warming. Again, the problem is one of scale. Herein, we will discuss the relevant unassailable physical laws and delve into the numbers.

The Climate Constraint Equation cannot be used for predicting future climate; however, it provides a constraint on models. It cannot tell what will happen, but it does tell what cannot happen. Any model that results in an unbalanced equation is wrong, pure and simple.

Think of the cries of the anti-nuclear crowd that a fraction a millirad of radiation dose is dangerous. Now think of the decades-long daily drumbeat telling us that everything bad can be attributed to “climate change” and that you are responsible for destroying the planet. Through the process of photosynthesis, and with the power of the sun (specific UV wavelengths), and naturally occurring chemicals such as chlorophyll, and invivo reactor sites provided by naturally occurring enzymes, we know how to produce gigatons of feedstock for our hydrocarbon production process from CO2. Algae farms might be our best alternative to accomplishing this part.

This involves reducing the population by about 7 billion people. Who can justify the killing of one innocent person? Who has the nerve to demand the elimination of seven billion people?? Because the degree to which the earth's surface is heated by the sun determines air temperatures, landscape changes like lost wetlands, deforestation, overgrazing and urbanization have all contributed significantly to warming since the Little Ice Age ended. Although most landscape changes are caused by humans, the intent here is show how landscape changes largely account for the land's temperature trends that have been incorrectly blamed on rising CO2.
